COURSE DESCRIPTION
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in accounting and seeking professional recognition, including tax agents, accounts managers and business analysts; and to employees performing a range of accounts management tasks for organisations in a range of industries. At this level, individuals are expected to apply theoretical and technical skills in a range of situations and to display initiative and judgement in planning activities.

This qualification includes units that comprise an approved Tax Practitioner Board (TPB) course in Australian taxation law and commercial law, which are relevant for registration as a tax agent.
Persons seeking registration with the TPB should check current registration requirements with the TPB, as registration requirements are reviewed regularly.

Units of study
To be awarded this qualification, competency must be demonstrated in 14 units
3 core units plus 11 elective units.
Assessment Methods
MITT uses a range of assessment methods which may include:
Written assessment (open book)
Projects
Case study
Observation
Assessment will be either a Recognition of Prior Learning pathway or a Training and Assessment pathway.
For a Training and Assessment pathway, participants are advised of the assessment requirements at the start of each training session.
Students not achieving competency in any assessment will be required to undertake another assessment under the terms and conditions of MITT’s reassessment policy.
REQUIREMENTS
The entry requirements for international students:
Must be 18 years old or over
Completed year 11 or equivalent
Minimum score of 5.5 – IELTS, 46 – TOEFL, 42 – PTE, 47 CAE score or equivalent
