COURSE DESCRIPTION

The target group for the BSB50320 Diploma of Human Resources Management are those who may be:

  • Seeking to pursue a career in human resources management and executive positions in organisation.
  • Seeking to progress in their career in the human resources, industrial law, employee relation, etc.
  • Seeking a pathway into higher education qualifications.

On successful completion of this course, students will receive a BSB50320 Diploma of Human Resource Management and a Record of results. If student cannot complete all the units of competency as specified in this qualification, a Statement of Attainment will be provided to students to indicate the units they have successfully completed.

Course Description

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working in a variety of roles within the human resources sector. The job roles that relate to this qualification may include Human Resources Consultant, Human Resources Advisor and Human Resources Business Partner.

Responsibilities are likely to be determined at a workplace level. Some smaller organisations may require employees to work across all aspects of human resources. In larger organisations, individuals may coordinate a single human resources function

Training Pathway

After achieving this qualification, student can articulate into a pathway to progress into Advanced Diploma of Management (Human Resources) or other higher education sector qualifications.

Qualification

On successful completion of this course, students will receive aBSB50618 Diploma of Human Resources Management and a Record of results. If student cannot complete all the units of competency as specified in this qualification, a Statement of Attainment will be provided to students to indicate the units they have successfully completed.

Duration

The full-time duration of this course is 44 study weeks plus 8 weeks of holidays (over 52 weeks). Some of the course is allocated to workbooks, assessments and projects. The delivery schedule outlines details of weekly study, hours of contact time and assessments to be completed.

Students may work at a variety of individual paces and complete the course in a shorter or longer timeframe. The duration and scheduling will consider the need for students to fully gain and develop the skills and knowledge that the assessment will assess; allowing for variations of some students due to specific learning needs and time for students for reflect on their learning and practice the skills and knowledge in a real or simulated workplace prior to presenting for assessment.

REQUIREMENTS

Melbourne Education Institute (MEI) has admission requirements as follows:

  • Have completed the following units (or equivalent competencies): BSBHRM411 Administer performance development processes; BSBHRM412 Support employee and industrial relations; BSBHRM415 Coordinate recruitment and onboarding; and BSBHRM417 Support human resource functions and processes. Equivalent competencies are predecessors to these units, which have been mapped as equivalent.or Have two years equivalent full-time relevant work experience.Note: If the student has not completed the units listed in the entry requirement, student can enrol in Certificate IV of human resource management for which the listed units are listed as core. The COE Duration for completing the units can be determined through the course training and assessment strategy. If the student does not wants to complete the full qualification Certificate IV, MEI can issue the statement of attainment for the units completed.• Students must be at least 18 years of age at the time of their course commencement at the college.
  • Students applying for this course will need to provide evidence of satisfactory completion of Australian Year 12 (or equivalent) or Diploma or higher.
  • (For International Students only) Either a minimum IELTS test score of 5.5 or equivalent for direct entry into a VET course or IELTS score of 4.5 or equivalent with an ELICOS (20 weeks) or IELTS score of 5.0 or equivalent with an ELICOS (10 weeks) to be taken before the main VET course. ELICOS must be at least at General English Upper Intermediate or English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level.
