COURSE DESCRIPTION
The creative arts industry continues to grow in Australia, offering a broad range of opportunities for visual artists. This course is designed to prepare students to make a smooth transition into a professional practice, working in an industry-related role or in a freelance capacity. It will help you apply your current skills and knowledge to the development of a self-directed project/product such as a solo exhibition, industry portfolio or published work.
Design, develop, exhibit
As a student in our Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts, you will have access to your own studio on campus, as well as mentors who will provide critical and constructive feedback, technical advice and assistance with the design and development of your individual work.
This course focuses on building your employability options, current industry knowledge, ability to realise project goals and establish an ongoing practice. We build upon the skills you attained at Diploma level, and our past graduates have produced targeted folios (to approach industry clients), secured publishing deals, established unique online stores, attended international trade fairs and created substantial bodies of work for exhibition.
You will be involved in exhibitions, industry forums and workshops that provide opportunities to extend the audience for your work and develop connections with industry.

Once you successfully complete the Advanced Diploma of Creative Product Development, you can continue onto further studies to complete a degree in your specialist field. You can also articulate directly into second year of our Bachelor of Illustration

Successful completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent, and a literacy and numeracy test.
Academic IELTS 5.5 with no individual band below 5.0. TOEFL iBT: 46 overall; Writing: 19; Speaking: 16; Reading: 10; Listening: 9; Pearson Global Scale of English: – PTE Academic: 42 overall communicative skills: 36, Cambridge English Scale (- Cambridge: First (FCE), – Cambridge: Advanced (CAE), – Cambridge: Proficiency (CPE)): 162 overall individual bands: 154, Melbourne Polytechnic: ELICOS: 2+ ISLPR overall individual bands: min ISLPR 2.
