COURSE DESCRIPTION
The NAPS Bachelor of Business (Islamic Business) degree is for students interested in a business degree which will empower them to take a key role in the rapidly expanding economies of Islamic nations.
Graduates will be able to offer their services to Shari’ah compliant businesses in Muslim nations or will have an advantage if they wish to work with companies or clients in non-Islamic states who deal with Islamic nations and or financial institutions, such as government, finance, import/export, mining, educational and not-for-profit agencies.
The Islamic Business Course includes essential Islamic units of study and builds upon 12 core subjects from the NAPS Bachelor of Business (Accounting). Graduates leave with a thorough grounding in critical business competency areas including accounting, finance, management and marketing, management as well as the principles of Shari’ah law. This gives them a rare, but very sought after combined understanding of both western and Islamic business cultures and practices.
The standard progression for the course comprises two trimesters per academic year. However, the Academy may offer an optional Summer Trimester, bringing it to a total of three trimesters per year. While the summer terms may be shorter than the standard trimesters, the volume of learning required would be the same as the first two trimesters. Depending on units offered, new students may also enrol in the Academy in the Summer Term.
