COURSE DESCRIPTION
They have core skills in tool use, measuring, drawing (including computer-aided design), interpreting work documentation, preparing cutting lists, communication, teamwork, and safe and environmentally sustainable work practices. They will have specialised skills in cabinet and furniture making and kitchen and bathroom construction and installation’.
Work is in a defined range of skilled operations, usually within a range of broader activities involving established routines, methods and procedures, where some discretion and judgement is required in the selection of equipment, services or contingency measures. Individuals collaborate with others to achieve quality outcomes and take responsibility for their own work. They may have some limited responsibility for the work of others.
Kitchen and bathroom installers must be licensed in some states, and induction training is required for those working on construction sites.
Learning outcomes
On successful completion of this course, the learners are going to be awarded MSF30322 Cabinet Making and Timber Technology, with dual specialisation in Furniture and Kitchens and Bathrooms.
Students who do not complete all units may be eligible for a Statement of Attainment in partial completion of the MSF30322 Cabinet Making and Timber Technology
REQUIREMENTS
- All students must be aged 18 years or over at the time of applying for admission to the college.
- Satisfactory completion of studies in applicant’s home country equivalent to an Australian Year 11/12 qualification.
- IELTS band score of overall 6.0 (Academic or General) or equivalent
