COURSE DESCRIPTION
CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry is designed to provide practical and theoretical aspects of carpentry training. Our innovative carpentry training program allows the student to complete theoretical and practical training in our classroom and in-house simulation environment, then followed by a 360 hours work placement that allows the student to learn on the real construction site.
CPC30220 Certificate III in Carpentry is the qualification for anyone who wants to become a qualified carpenter in Australia.
This course provides you with the essential skills and knowledge to work in the building and construction industry as a carpenter.
Major areas of study include occupational health and safety, interpretation of plans and documents, measurements and calculations, use of hand and power tools, construct truss, pitched and complex roof systems, construct floor, wall and ceiling frames, erect scaffolding and work from heights, construct stairs, formwork and re-enforcement, install and replace windows and doors, wet out the building on site and more.
WHAT YOU NEED FOR STUDY
You will need to bring:
- A computer installed with an appropriate costing software and word processing software, webcam and internet access
- Printer or printing services
- Calculator
- Camera with photo and video recording capabilities
- Pen, pencils, markers, highlighters, coloring materials, eraser, ruler, onion skin paper
- Personal safety PPEs ?(Steel Capped Boots, Gloves, Dusk Musk’s and Overalls).
- ???Origin Institute will provide necessary simulation environment, materials and tools.
POSSIBLE LEARNING PATHWAYS:
- CPC40120 Certificate IV in Building and Construction (Building),
- CPC50220 Diploma of Building and Construction (Building), or
- a range of Certificate IV or Diploma level qualifications with the CPC Training Package.
POSSIBLE CAREER:
- Painter and Decorator
- Painting Trades Worker
- Paperhanger
REQUIREMENTS
At least 18 years of age at time of enrolment.
Minimum of 12 years of schooling or equivalent, and
Minimum IELTS 5.5 or equivalent.*
* Language test outcome must be less than 2 years old.
