COURSE DESCRIPTION

The College offers courses using various modes of delivery (e.g. classroom based, on-line and distance). However, for international students, face-to-face learning and teaching is compulsory for a full-time study load. Course delivery combines theory-based tutorial and practical sessions involving small groups, individual and team activities, and demonstrations using simulated work environment.

This qualification reflects professional accounting job roles in financial services and other industries, including tax agents, accounts payable and accounts receivable officers, payroll service providers, and employees performing a range of accounting tasks for organizations in a range of industries. Individuals in these roles apply solutions to a range of often complex problems and analyze and evaluate information from a variety of sources. They apply initiative to plan, coordinate and evaluate their own work and provide guidance to others within defined guidelines.

The admission to this program can be gained through following pathways:

Qualification pathway:
This includes any qualification completed, as listed in the academic qualifications requirements below. Applicants with appropriate prior tertiary studies that satisfy part of the academic requirements of the course may be granted ‘credit’ and/or entry to the course with ‘advanced standing’.

Work Experience/Employment:
This includes any employment or workplace experience that applicant have had in the financial services sector or closely related sector.

This course aims to provide students with the knowledge, skills and attitude in Accounting accompanied by a broad range of relevant generic business and financial skills. This qualification is designed to reflect the role of employees who perform duties such as:

  • Introducing and maintaining accounting systems
  • Preparing financial statements for a reporting entity
  • Preparing tax returns
  • Reporting on business performance
  • Managing small teams
  • Developing business plans
  • Preparing management accounting reports

Note: Attainment of this qualification doesn’t guarantee a job outcome or migration outcome

Upon successful completion of all units in this course, students are eligible for the FNS60215 Advanced Diploma of Accounting qualification. After completion of this course, students may choose further studies in Accounting.

REQUIREMENTS

Students must have a successful completion of Australian year 12 or equivalent.

Completion of the FNSSS00014 Accounting Principles Skill Set;
OR
Completion of FNS40615 Certificate IV in Accounting or equivalent;
OR
Completion of FNS40215 Certificate IV in Bookkeeping or equivalent.

English language requirement:

  • IELTS: 5.5
  • TOEFL: 46-59
  • PTE: 43-50
  • CAE: 47
