Our Master of Arts Photography course is a postgraduate course in photography, that is the first of its kind in Australia and the Asia-Pacific region. It has a strong practice-based approach with extensive networks in photography and related creative industries and communities.
In a collegiate environment, you will immerse yourself in your passion for photography as you create new work while exploring contemporary photographic ideas, cultures, theories and innovative practices. Whether you are interested in expanding your existing career or establishing an academic teaching career in photography and the related visual arts, our Master of Arts Photography postgraduate program is the right program for you.

The Master of Arts Photography program is designed to launch your career on the national and international stage.
The program will prepare you for a professional career in a range of creative industry roles. It will equip you to move into higher level professional roles in photography, multimedia, visual journalism, photographic publishing and/or curatorial and project management. In particular, it can also provide you with the necessary qualification to pursue a career in academia and teaching photography and other related creative industries.
The program is flexible and engaging allowing you to achieve your professional goals and expand your practice in a supportive and world-leading environment.
As a Master of Arts Photography student at Australia’s number one photography institution, you will join a network of international photographers, photographic academics, publishers, curators, festival directors and writers that will enable you to take your practice onto the world stage.
REQUIREMENTS
For entry into the Master of Arts Photography, applicants must meet specific academic and/or professional entrance requirements.
Applicants should normally possess a Bachelor with Honours or Bachelor Degree qualification or equivalent.
Applicants without formal qualifications but with significant experiential learning/professional experience are also encouraged to apply.
English language proficiency: IELTS (Academic Module): Overall score 6.5; TOEFL Internet: Test score 79; Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score 58; University of Cambridge – Advanced (CAE): Total score of 175.
