Conceptualise, develop and present your designs using models, drawings and digital walk-throughs.
Learn from real-world practitioners who are active in the industry and who’ll share insights and opportunities that’ll give you a competitive edge.
Complete up to 100 hours of work placement in a real interior design practice.
Develop your skills in our advanced design studios and work with students in other disciplines on exciting real-world projects.
Complete an overseas study tour and experience a different culture while learning about international design trends.
Why choose this course?
With many major projects planned for Queensland over the next 10 years, including the Star Brisbane casino, Waterfront Brisbane and Brisbane 2032 Olympics, there’s never been a more exciting time to start your interior design career.
You’ll join a highly respected course with a reputation for producing Australia’s best interior design graduates and gain the work-ready skills and experience you need to step confidently into your interior design career.
You’ll be taught by real-world practitioners with strong connections to local industry, who’ll share valuable insights and opportunities that’ll give you a competitive edge. Using the latest tools and technologies in our advanced design studios, you’ll learn to conceptualise, develop and present your designs with models, drawings and digital walk-throughs.
You’ll work on projects independently and with students in other disciplines, just as you would in a real interior design practice. You’ll also complete up to 100 hours of real work placement, where you can build your portfolio and make valuable connections for your future career.
Your interior design degree begins with introductory impact lab units where, working with students from other disciplines, you’ll address contemporary challenges and identify potential solutions through partnering with industry and the community.
Your studies will centre on design process, theory and technology, including 2D and 3D digital drafting. Building on these foundations, you’ll delve into design psychology and the sociocultural aspects of design, as well as your choice of units from other areas of study.
Later in your degree, you can transfer your skills and knowledge straight to the workplace and gain practical work experience with our work integrated learning program.
