Develop your skills using the latest technologies in our fully equipped design studios.

Graduate with a highly regarded qualification that will allow you to work on landscape design projects of all sizes and levels of complexity.

Why choose this course?

From sustainable landscape systems to the latest design trends, you’ll learn everything you need to know to create outdoor spaces that have a positive cultural and environmental impact from experienced practitioners working in the field.

Through our work integrated learning program, you’ll complete up to 100 hours working on real landscape projects, where you’ll develop the work-ready skills you need to step confidently into your future career.

Recent projects our students have worked on include the Brisbane Powerhouse and King Street redevelopments – both significant urban renewal projects that have helped to revitalise Brisbane’s inner-city lifestyle.

In this course, you’ll combine your knowledge of landscape systems and design to create positive social, cultural and environmental impacts in our cities, regions and outdoor spaces. Your degree will begin with introductory and shared impact lab units where, working with students from other disciplines, you’ll focus on problems and social issues and identify potential solutions connected to industry and community.

Your introductory studies will focus on foundational landscape design knowledge, skills and applications, covering a range of design principles, theories and processes that you will apply to real or simulated design scenarios. Building on these foundations, you’ll then explore core units covering design history and theory, building materials, flora, ecology, landform and tectonics.

Later in your degree, you’ll transfer your skills and knowledge to a diverse workplace or professional context and gain practical work experience through our work integrated learning program.
