The Graduate Diploma of Business Administration provides an advanced postgraduate education in business administration for current managers and for professionals aspiring to management roles.
Why enrol in the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration?
Sheridan’s Graduate Diploma of Business Administration (GradDipBA) provides advanced postgraduate education in business administration. The program covers several core areas of responsibility for managers at a strategic, decision-making level. Each of the units are underpinned by a critical evaluation of the prevailing theoretical frameworks that ground the study of business, and an examination of Christian perspectives which uphold the dignity of human beings and our social responsibilities to one another. The course provides a broad base for further study in Business Administration or to enhance your employability within business management.
Graduate Certificate of Business Administration
The Graduate Certificate of Business Administration (GradCertBA) is a nested qualification within the GradDipBA. GradCertBA graduates who are subsequently accepted into the GradDipBA program will receive full credit for the first six (6) months of their GradDipBA course.
Course Learning Outcomes
Graduate Diplomas qualify individuals who apply a body of knowledge in a range of contexts to undertake professional or highly skilled work and as a pathway for further learning.
Upon completion of the Graduate Diploma of Business Administration, you will be able to:
- Demonstrate advanced understanding of current knowledge and professional practice in specialised disciplines of business administration
- Demonstrate your ability to analyse and synthesise information, concepts and theories from a multi-disciplinary perspective.
- Critically evaluate current and past scholarship and professional practice in the light of contemporary research, of workplace practice, and of perspectives grounded in Christian scholarship.
- Demonstrate your intellectual independence through creative contributions to the study and/or practice of business administration.
- Communicate your improved understanding of current knowledge and professional practice through prepared presentations and projects in a variety of settings.
- Apply research-based technical and creative tools to complex problems in theoretical and actual workplace settings.
- Model self-discipline, professional judgment, personal integrity, teamwork and respect for the dignity of individuals and groups in a variety of settings.
Each unit you take in the Graduate Diploma program will contribute towards the fulfilment of these broader learning outcomes.
REQUIREMENTS
Academic admission pathways into GradDipBA:
A Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification from an Australian university or other approved higher education provider with a credit average, and
Satisfactory evidence demonstrating the equivalent of at least three years’ relevant full-time professional experience
Work Life Experience
A higher education diploma from an Australian provider or other approved education provider with a credit average (or equivalent), and
Satisfactory evidence demonstrating the equivalent of at least five years’ relevant work experience and are assessed by the Dean as being able to successfully complete the program and make a positive contribution to the learning environment
Applicants who do not have a credit average must submit a 1000 word statement demonstrating their suitability for the program to be reviewed by the Academic English Lecturer and the Dean.
Minimum English language proficiency requirements for postgraduate courses are:
IELTS (Academic): 6.5 (with individual Reading and Writing bands of no less than 6.5 and no other individual band less than 6.0)
TOEFL (Internet based): 86 (no band less than 20)
TOEFL (Paper based): 550 (with Test of Written English 5)
Pearson Test of English (PTE Academic): 58 (no band less than 50)
