COURSE DESCRIPTION

This qualification equips students to work in the aged care sector, providing person centred services and individual support in a residential, home, or community based aged care setting. They are also trained to complete specialised tasks, which may include individual service planning, implementing falls prevention strategies, and in some circumstances adopting a palliative approach to personal support.

Students are trained to work within defined organisation guidelines, following safe work practices for the aged care industry without the need for direct supervision. They are also equipped to lead other support workers where needed.

Solis College has a passion for seeing our students learn new skills, opening new opportunities and career paths as they study. We have a mission to become one of Australia’s leading RTOs, through a culture of respect, understanding, and exceptional service. Some of the ways we show this are:

Rolling intakes, allowing students to start their training at any time.
A diverse team of trainers, with a firm track record of supporting students from a wide range of cultural and language backgrounds.
All courses accessible through CRICOS – available to both international and domestic students.
Flexible payment options, making studying more accessible on a strict budget.

Our students really are at the centre of every decision we make.

Even this is a little low as far as Solis College is concerned – we’re very proud of our 97.6% graduate employment rate.

Solis College works hard to provide students with the best training and opportunities possible, and we delight in hearing the success stories of past students as they launch into new careers. Many students are offered employment at the same locations where they do their practical placement, and our students are well-regarded within the aged care industry.
