Love travel, people and the thought of a career that can take you all around the world? Whether you are already working in the hotel sector or looking to make a career change, this course will develop your skills and enhance your career prospects in a dynamic, global industry.
Delivered at the Hotel School, our unique partnership with Mulpha Australia, this course covers theory and practices within the industry, finance, management and communication, as well as food, beverage and accommodation operations.
Major areas of study
Students complete all core units. These include:
- Language and learning in your discipline
- Quantitative methods with economics
- Communication in organisations
- Accounting and finance for business
- Food and beverage operations
- Tourism theories and practices
- Hospitality services management
- Accommodation operations
Career opportunities
This is a pathway course to the Bachelor of Business in Hotel Management, Bachelor of Business in Tourism and Hospitality Management and the Bachelor of Business in Convention and Event Management. Diploma graduates receive up to eight units of credit towards these Bachelor degrees.
Graduates are also well suited to entry-level supervisory positions in the hotel, leisure, tourism and hospitality sectors.
REQUIREMENTS
Qualification equivalent to Australian Year 12 with the required entry grade.
Applicants must have IELTS – 5.5 with no band less than 5.0; CAE – 47; TOEFL PBT – 500 min 4.0 (TWE); TOEFL iBT – 46 with no less than 16 in writing; PTE – 42 with no communicative score less than 36; ISPLR – 3 in all 4 skills.
