The Graduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching (Higher Education) is designed for participants working in an academic or academic support role in higher education. REQUIREMENTS

Applicants are required to:

  • Hold an Australian Bachelor degree or equivalent qualification (AQF Level 7) in any discipline
  • Be employed in an academic or academic support role in a tertiary environment

Non-standard entry

Applicants without a formal qualification but with at least five years’ relevant work experience in an academic or academic support role in a tertiary environment, will be considered if they can demonstrate that they can undertake the course with a reasonable prospect of success.

English language requirements

Satisfactory completion of one of the following:

  • Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65%
  • minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
  • TOEFL iBT (internet-based) minimum score of 79 with a reading band no less than 18 and writing band no less than 20
  • Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 58 (no communicative skills less than 50)
  • C1 Advanced – 176, no band less than 169
  • any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
