If you’re an engineer who wants to diversity your career, this course will help you expand upon your current specialisation with contemporary coursework. You’ll further develop your professional management and communication skills, as well as research methods and principles.
Upgrade your skills
Demonstrate broad knowledge and skills in engineering professional practice and have high-level advanced knowledge and skills in an engineering specialisation
Plan and execute a team-based research project in a relevant Engineering topic
Investigate, analyse and synthesise information relating to complex problems, concepts and theories of professional engineering practice, and to provide solutions to these problems using critical thinking and judgement

REQUIREMENTS
The admission requirements for Master of Professional Engineering consist of:
- A Bachelor of Engineering degree, or
- A Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree, or
- A Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma of Engineering degree following on from a Bachelor of Engineering degree, or
- A qualification deemed to be equivalent to any of the above.
English language requirements
Satisfactory completion of one of the following:
- Swinburne’s English for Academic Purposes (EAP 5 Advanced level) with overall 70%, all skills 65%
- minimum IELTS overall band of 6.5 (Academic Module) with no individual band below 6.0
- Pearson (PTE) minimum score of 58 (no communicative skills less than 50)
- TOEFL iBT (internet-based) -79 (no less than 13 in reading, 12 in listening, 18 in speaking 21 in writing)
- C1 Advanced – 176, no band less than 169
- any other equivalent assessment of English language proficiency.
