COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Certificate IV in Guiding equips you with the skills and knowledge to work as a tour manager or director in areas like heritage, cultural, natural or general tourism.

Develop your confidence in crafting and presenting group activities and learn valuable practical skills from teachers experienced in leading tour groups both around Australia and internationally.

Graduates go on to work as guides in many tourism industry sectors, such as inbound tour operators, outbound tour wholesalers, local tour operators, or owner-operators of small tourism or travel businesses.

Through a mix of theory and practical coursework, learn to:

Coordinate and operate tour groups
Schedule and supervise extended touring programs
Provide excellent customer service
Demonstrate social and cultural sensitivity
Participate in safe work practices through identifying and controlling safety risks

REQUIREMENTS

Year 10 or equivalent

English Language Requirements:

Academic IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (iBT) 46 or equivalent
or Completion of a TAFE NSW General English Program
