COURSE DESCRIPTION

OVERVIEW

The Certificate IV in Information Technology helps you advance your IT skills and provides you with broad knowledge across multiple areas in the IT industry.

In this exciting course, you will learn a wide range of skills such as; managing networks and data, installing and configuring virtual machines, ICT support, testing and system analysis.

You’ll have the opportunity to benefit from TAFE NSW’s practical and industry-focused approach to education, learn from our experienced teaching staff and practice using industry-standard software, hardware, and operating systems, including SQL and Microsoft servers, WordPress, routers, and switches.

Through a mix of theory and practical coursework, learn to:

  • Identify and resolve client ICT problems
  • Use introductory level coding techniques
  • Contribute to cyber security risk management
  • Comply with IP, ethics and privacy policies in ICT environments
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies and practices

REQUIREMENTS

Prerequisite:

Certificate III in Information Technology

English Language Requirements:

Academic IELTS 5.5 or TOEFL (iBT) 46 or equivalent

Or Completion of a TAFE NSW General English Program

TAFE NSW makes every effort to ensure your Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) needs are met. The level of support you require may be assessed via a review of your LLN skills with written tasks and a one-on-one interview. If you need to strengthen your LLN skills, an individual training plan will be created with you.
