Progress your career as a draftsperson with this hands-on course. Learn specialised skills including how to produce drawings and use software and open up doors to career advancement or further study.
According to the Australian Government’s Job Outlook service, job prospects within the building and design industry is very strong, and the sector is expected to continue experiencing high future growth.
In this course you will learn specialist skills including the supervised production of drawings and documentation for Class 1 and 10 building designs using CAD software. You will also learn how to relate with others in the industry, how to choose construction materials and advise on appropriate building methods as well as learn how to ensure building designs comply with legislation and codes.
Successful completion of this course will give you the practical skills and knowledge to enter the building design industry to work as an entry-level drafter who supports building designers and architects.

REQUIREMENTS
The following selection criteria requirements apply only to International students:
Academic Requirements: Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent). Non school-leavers must have relevant work experience or qualification that indicates likely success of course completion.
International students who are under 18 years of age and are applying for a student visa are required by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs to have adequate welfare arrangements in place.
Academic IELTS 5.5 (no individual band less than 5.0) or ISLPR 2+ on all skills or other; iBT score of 46 with 8 in Reading /7 in Learning and 18 in writing /16 in speaking; PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) overall score of 42 with Reading /Learning /writing /speaking score of 36; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 162.
