COURSE DESCRIPTION
Elevate your creative practice and gain a range of fundamental filmmaking skills with this advanced qualification. This course is designed for cross-disciplinary artists, performers and storytellers looking to explore and experiment with cinematic storytelling techniques.
The creative arts industry plays an important role in Australia’s economy. The emergence of new technologies and wide range of job prospects available mean this is an exciting industry to be a part of.
This course has been designed to be creatively and personally empowering with self-devised projects and outcomes tailored to meet your individual needs. Led by industry experts, this immersive and hands-on course will give you valuable screen production skills in directing, camera operation, lighting, sound recording and editing. You’ll also have the opportunity to design and produce your own short screen productions.
Successful completion of this course will equip you with the skills to work in the screen and media industry across a range of areas including screen writing, production, producing, directing, or acting.

If you want to go on to further study at university, TAFE Queensland has a pathway option to get you there. In many cases, completing one of our diplomas may give you a full year of credit towards a degree with one of our partner universities.
REQUIREMENTS
The following selection criteria requirements apply only to international students:
Academic Requirements: Completion of Year 12 (or equivalent). Non-school-leavers must have relevant work experience or qualification that indicates likely success of course completion.
International students who are under 18 years of age and are applying for a student visa are required by the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs to have adequate welfare arrangements in place.
Academic IELTS 5.5 (no individual band less than 5.0) or ISLPR 2+ on all skills or other; iBT score of 46 with 8 in Reading /7 in Learning and 18 in writing /16 in speaking; PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) overall score of 42 with Reading /Learning /writing /speaking score of 36; Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE) score of 162.

TAFE Queensland is the biggest provider of further education and vocational training courses in Queensland. On an average, every year more than 180,000 students complete a course at TAFE Queensland. The TAFE Queensland network is made up of six regions delivering training from Thursday Island to the Gold Coast, from Bundaberg to Roma and across the south-east corner. From the vast roster of courses, international students can choose to apply to over 170 courses in subjects as varied as Accounting, Electronics, Beauty Therapy and Commercial Cooking.
