COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Graduate Diploma of International and Strategic Affairs is a flexible 1 year full-time (or part-time equivalent) postgraduate qualification designed to equip you with the knowledge and skills required for understanding emerging issues in international relations and strategic studies, both globally and in Asia and the Pacific. Through a wide range of course choices, students will learn how to critically analyse international affairs and foreign and defence policies. The program will engage students in a diverse range of disciplines and explore how issues such as globalisation, development, democratisation, terrorism, human security, war and conflict drive political developments in the Asia Pacific region and around the world. The program provides a pathway for entry into the Masters of International Relations and the Master of Strategic Studies. Students who are considering proceeding from this qualification into an approved Master program should seek academic advice from the relevant program convenor in order to ensure that the courses taken during the Graduate Diploma are eligible for credit toward their chosen Master degree.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must present one of the following:
- Bachelor or international equivalent with GPA 4/7 or;
- Graduate Diploma or international equivalent with a GPA 4/7 or;
- Graduate Certificate or international equivalent with a GPA 4/7 or;
- 24 units of courses in a postgraduate program a GPA of 4/7 or;
- GRE General test, completed no more than 5 years before the time of application, with a minimum score of 155 for Verbal Reasoning, 155 for Quantitative Reasoning and 4.0 in Analytical Writing and a minimum of 3 years full-time equivalent work experience at ANZSCO Skill Level 1 in a field related to the program or;
- A minimum 5 years full-time equivalent work experience at ANZSCO Skill Level 1 in a field related to the program.
The GPA for a Bachelor program will be calculated from (i) a completed Bachelor degree using all grades and/or (ii) a completed Bachelor degree using all grades other than those from the last semester (or equivalent study period) of the Bachelor degree. The higher of the two calculations will be used as the basis for admission.
English Language Requirements
IELTS Academic and IELTS UKVI Academic [excluding One Skill Retake and IELTS Online] – Overall score of 6.5 overall with minimum 6.0 in each band.
TOEFL iBT Paper Edition and TOEFL iBT [excluding Paper Edition and Home Edition] – Overall score of 80 (Reading – 20; Writing – 20; Listening – 18; Speaking – 18).
Cambridge C1 Advanced – Overall score of 176 minimum 169 in each band.
PTE Academic and PTE Academic UKVI [excluding PTE Academic Online] – Overall score of 64 minimum 55 in each band.
