The CUA51020 Diploma of Screen & Media (Specialist Makeup Services) provides a strong foundation to work across various creative roles as a makeup artist and special effects professional. Our course covers all aspects of makeup artistry, from designing and applying makeup for different purposes to creating special effects makeup and styling wigs and hair. You will also learn how to work with prosthetics for specialist makeup effects.
During this practical and hands-on program, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with other students in the hair, fashion and beauty departments, working on a number of events, including runway shows, special events and professional photoshoots.
Core Units Covered
The CUA51020 Diploma of Screen & Media (Specialist Makeup) course involves both theory and practical work, which will develop your skills in makeup application and in working as part of a team. You will receive training in areas such as:
Learning the art of contouring and highlighting
Fashion, editorial and catwalk makeup

REQUIREMENTS
English Language Entry Requirements
An English test score with minimum requirements as follows:
• IELTS Overall 5.5 with no band score lower than 5.0; OR
• PTE Academic Score of 36; OR
• TOEFL iBT Score of 46; OR
• Cambridge English: Advanced from Cambridge ESOL (CAE) Score of 162, OR
• Equivalent as determined by OHC English Placement Test.
Academic Entry Requirements
Students must prove they meet the admissions standards relevant to their specific course as follows:
Successful completion of an Australian Year 12 (senior high school), a Certificate IV or equivalent; OR
Successful completion of an approved Tertiary Preparation Program or a Foundation Year program offered by an accredited institution of higher education; OR
Applicants may also be allowed direct entry through an approved articulation agreement.
