Degree Structure
This double degree provides students with the opportunity to pursue education courses from the beginning of their university studies. The primary focus in the first three years is on undertaking study in the two discipline areas in which the student intends to teach. These courses are taken as part of the degree program that accompanies the Bachelor of Teaching in the subject areas of the student’s choice.
In each of the first three years, students also take education courses designed to provide an on-going orientation to educational issues and practice. The first and second year education courses involve observation and experience in school contexts. The final year is taken up entirely with education studies and is commenced after the other degree is completed. Placements cover a total of 85 days in the Adelaide metropolitan area and country South Australia.
