COURSE DESCRIPTION
Civil and structural engineers create and maintain buildings, systems and infrastructure. They ensure man-made structures including buildings, bridges, railways, and water channels meet the needs of our society in safe and sustainable ways.
Our Graduate Diploma in Engineering (Civil and Structural) is suited to engineering graduates and working engineers with relevant experience.
What will you do?
The program acts as a foundational year for the Master of Engineering (Civil and Structural). It’s designed to upskill students for advanced studies and career opportunities. You will:
build and evaluate geotechnical models
analyse structural dynamics using computer technologies
study reinforced concrete and steel design
develop skills for research, communication, critical thinking, business and management.
Career Readiness
Civil and structural engineering graduates can follow careers in a wide range of areas and often find employment in private consulting engineering practices, construction companies, civil engineering service providers, and federal, state and local government departments in Australia and abroad.
Some of the more common careers in civil engineering including structural engineers, water resources engineers, coastal engineers, geotechnical engineers, transportation and highways engineers, and materials and testing engineers.
