COURSE DESCRIPTION
Gain the skills to better support the needs of students with specific learning difficulties such as dyslexia and dyscalculia.
You’ll improve your professional knowledge and understanding of the nature and causes of specific learning difficulties in children. Enhance your skills in classroom assessment, goal-setting, instructional choices and responsiveness to learning difficulties as you learn how to implement teaching that optimises student learning.
Flexible study
This course is offered part-time and 100% online so you can balance study with work and other commitments.

Pathways
Graduates of this course may be eligible for 50 credit points of advanced standing towards the Master of Learning Intervention.
Learning outcomes
The course will prepare you to:
Apply knowledge about research and practice relevant to learning difficulties, including dyslexia and dyscalculia.
Analyse theory and instruction, intervention and assessment practices related to learners with literacy and numeracy difficulties.
Critically review a range of published resources and research relevant to understanding and addressing learning difficulties.
Exhibit skills that impact practice in their setting and share knowledge with others, including their colleagues.
Translate research to practice for learners with learning difficulties, including dyslexia and dyscalculia.
