COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Master of Philosophy – MDHS (Dental Science) is an internationally recognised masters (by research) degree. It is designed for students to develop advanced skills in carrying out independent and sustained research in Dental Science. The thesis demonstrates a critical application of specialist knowledge and makes an independent contribution to existing scholarship in the area of dental science research.

By the end of this course, you should be able to:

  • show a sophisticated understanding of the principles and processes of research design.
  • demonstrate the ability to identify research issues and formulate research questions.
  • design and conduct research at a postgraduate level.
  • develop significant problem-solving abilities in the conduct of research.
  • demonstrate a critical application of specialist knowledge of social health.
  • develop a respect and understanding for the ethics of scholarship.
