Equip yourself with the knowledge, focus and skills for a career in accounting, banking, finance or business analytics.
Commerce graduates are in high demand for their in-depth understanding of how accounting, business information systems, data analytics and finance add value to business and the global economy.
As you study our commerce program, you’ll investigate topics such as:
How can business performance be measured and assessed?
How can company, project and investment value be determined to make buy/sell decisions?
How do foreign markets, derivatives and debt markets affect my client’s portfolio?
How applications of artificial intelligence in business processes, offerings and strategies provide impactful and productive deep learning opportunities.
What is an auditor’s responsibility?
How can big data be analysed to add value?
What issues arise from operating in a virtual corporate environment?
After examining the fundamental principles of commerce, you’ll learn how you can apply and adapt them in response to specific challenges faced by businesses. You’ll build specialised knowledge and skills through your choice of one or two majors.
This program will set you up for a thriving career in the public or private sectors in accounting, banking, financial management, business analysis, data scientists, business information systems and general management.

REQUIREMENTS
Queensland Year 12 (or equivalent):
General English subject (Units 3 & 4, C)
Mathematical Methods (Units 3 & 4, C)
English language requirements
IELTS overall 6.5; reading 6; writing 6; speaking 6; listening 6. For other English Language Proficiency Tests and Scores approved for UQ
TOEFL iBT (including Paper Edition) – Overall 87, listening 19, reading 19, writing 21 and speaking 19.
PTE Academic – Overall Score of 64 and 60 in all sub bands.
BE – A minimum overall grade of 4 plus a minimum grade of C in all macro skills.
CES – Overall 176 and 169 in all sub bands.
OET is not accepted.
