The Bachelor of Engineering Honours (Flexible First Year) allows you to explore different engineering streams before deciding upon your ultimate stream. You will undertake a common set of units of study in your first semester before transferring to a stream.

If you’re unsure what stream to choose and want to explore different engineering disciplines before deciding upon your ultimate course of study, then this program is for you.

Career paths

Depending on the engineering stream selected, career pathways could include:

Aeronautical engineer

Biomedical engineer

Chemical engineer

Biomolecular engineer

Civil engineer

Electrical engineer

Mechanical engineer

Mechatronic engineer

Software engineer

Professional accreditation

Students in the Flexible First Year pathway transfer to an Engineering stream accredited by Engineers Australia. Our graduates are recognised internationally through the Washington Accord of the International Engineering Alliance.
