COURSE DESCRIPTION

Certificate IV in Human Resource Management is designed help you pursue your passion for maintaining a company culture and at the same time empowering people around you. The course will equip you with transferrable skills and knowledge for a rewarding career in human resource management functions in a broad range of industries.

Throughout this course, you will learn the fundamental subjects in the area of human resource functions and processes, including administering performance development processes, coordinating recruitment and on-boarding, implementing and monitoring WHS policies, procedures and programs, and supporting the learning and development of teams and individuals. In addition, you will also be guided through the practices of coordinating separation and termination processes, coordinating remuneration and employee benefits and processing payroll.

The course is most suited for individuals who are currently, or are aspired to be, in the position of a human resource assistant, human resource coordinator, human resource administrator, or payroll officer in small, medium or large firms in both the public and private sector.

Academic Pathways

Upon completion of this course, you are qualified to progress to Diploma of Human Resource Management or to undertake a range of other diploma qualifications from the BSB Business Services Training Package to further enhance their career opportunities in your chosen field.

Employment Pathways

With this qualification, you are confident and ready to seek a rewarding position human resource management department within a small, medium or large enterprise, in a variety of industries, in both the public and private sector. With no prior work experience, you should expect to enter the industry in positions such as be a human resource assistant or a payroll officer; while with substantial work experience, you could obtain positions such as a human resource coordinator or a human resource administrator.

REQUIREMENTS

International students must meet TWI’s standards for English proficiency. To demonstrate possession of adequate English language proficiency, students must provide valid evidence of attainment of at least one of the following:

  • Academic IELTS (International English Language Testing System) overall band score: 5.5, but minimum 5.0 in individual band (test results must be no more than 2-years-old).
  • TOEFL iBT (Test of English as a Foreign Language Internet-Based Test) test score band: 46
  • PTE Academic (Pearson Test of English) test score band: 42
  • CAE (Cambridge English Advanced) test score band: 162
  • OET (Occupational English Test) test score band: Pass (A or B)

In addition to that, students are exempt from providing evidence of English language proficiency with their visa application if they fall into one of the following categories:

  • Students who have completed at least five years of study in Australia, New Zealand, Canada, South Africa or the Republic of Ireland.
  • Citizens and passport holders of the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand or the Republic of Ireland.
  • Students who have successfully completed the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or study at AQF Certificate IV level or higher in Australia within two years of applying for this qualification.
  • Students enrolled full-time in school studies as a principal course (including secondary exchange programs), postgraduate research or a standalone ELICOS program.
  • Foreign Affairs or Defence sponsored students.
