The Bachelor of Accounting will give you the technical and theoretical accounting knowledge as well as the analytical, communication and financial skills to succeed in a wide range of careers across all sectors. An accountant doesn’t necessarily work in an accounting firm. Other industries also employ accountants — financial institutions, retailers, charities and record labels, just to name a few.

The Bachelor of Laws course provides you with a solid foundation in critical thinking, problem solving and research skills – which feeds directly into legal careers across many areas including:

Please note, to be admitted to practice as a solicitor, barrister or legal practitioner in Australia, you will need to undertake a course of Practical Legal Training (PLT).
The Bachelor of Accounting component offers a thorough and deep understanding of accounting concepts, methods and techniques for professional practice in the business world. It provides graduates an excellent opportunity to acquire both theoretical and technical knowledge plus practical skills in diverse contexts, as well as developing a vivid career in accounting within local and global settings. This course also builds a cemented foundation for further professional development to highly motivated graduates. The Bachelor of Laws component provides graduates degree also provides graduates with a professionally accredited Law degree with and a critical and progressive approach to the existing law and legal system quipped with the necessary technical and specialist skills including: 1. understanding and knowledge of Australian law and awareness of indigenous, international and theoretical perspectives; 2. competence in using legal research and analytical skills that equip them to work in the legal profession or in a broad range of law related occupations; 3. the ability to take a strategic approach to problem solving by applying critical and innovative thinking to complex legal issues and situations; 4. competence in oral and written communication; 5. the ability to work independently and in groups; and 6. professional judgement and knowledge of the ethical responsibilities associated with having completed a law degree. 7. LLB with Honours students: a comprehensive understanding of theoretical, comparative or interdisciplinary research to examine law’s effect on society and the effectiveness of the Australian Legal System.
1. Learning Outcomes: BAcc component: demonstrate broad knowledge of the accounting discipline, including technical knowledge, to facilitate a career in accounting and further professional development and professional practice;
2. exercise judgement under supervision to solve routine accounting problems in straightforward contexts using social, ethical, economic, regulatory and global perspectives;
3. apply integrated theoretical and technical accounting knowledge which includes a selection of auditing and assurance, finance, economics, quantitative methods, information systems, commercial law, corporation law and taxation law;
4. critically apply theoretical and technical accounting knowledge and skills to execute routine accounting tasks
REQUIREMENTS
Entry is based on Australian Year 12 equivalence or an approved overseas qualification. English Language Requirements: An IELTS (Academic): overall score – 6.5, Listening, Reading, Speaking – 6.0, Writing – 6.5; TOEFL Internet-based test overall score -91, Listening, Reading, Speaking – 20, Writing – 22.
EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTION
The University of New England was originally formed in 1938 as the New England University College, a College of the University of Sydney. It became fully independent in 1954. The university is located on several sites in Armidale, NSW. All the programs are offered via the four faculties: Arts; Economics, Business and Law; Education, Health and Professional Studies; and The Sciences; these faculties incorporate 18 teaching schools. Research is offered in the areas of rural science, agricultural economics, geology, educational administration, linguistics, archaeology, etc.
