COURSE DESCRIPTION
The Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity course is offered to cognate students seeking to move into a cybersecurity career or build upon their existing cybersecurity skills. The course is offered both on campus and online, part-time and full-time, to accommodate different needs and help satisfy growing industry demand for qualified cybersecurity professionals. The students can select units from a range of state-of-the-art areas including network security, cloud security, ethical hacking, intrusion detection and information privacy.
The Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity is designed for IT and computer science graduates who are looking to move into a cybersecurity career, as well as IT and computer science graduates who are already working as cybersecurity professionals and who are looking to broaden their skill set or progress their career. The aim of the course is to develop and/or enhance students’ competences in foundations of cybersecurity and a few advanced cybersecurity topics, while developing problem solving and analytical skills.

Upon completion of this course, graduates will be able to:
demonstrate advanced knowledge and understanding of cybersecurity and related computing theories and technologies, and to pursue lifelong learning via acquiring and analysing information from various sources, knowledge synthesis and reflection;
apply acquired knowledge and problem-solving skills to design effective computing and cybersecurity solutions;
communicate effectively in both oral and written form with technical and non-technical audiences to share ideas, obtain information and work effectively with others;
demonstrate advanced understanding of the legal, ethical and cultural context, and social and economic implications of cybersecurity threats and solutions; and
work effectively as an individual, or as a part of a team/ team leader.
REQUIREMENTS
You can apply for this course if you have completed a Bachelor qualification (AQF Level 7 or overseas equivalent) or above in a relevant discipline.
If you have a non-relevant Bachelor qualification (AQF Level 7 or overseas equivalent) or above you can study Cybersecurity through UNE’s Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity and Computing. This qualification will also grant you access to UNE’s Graduate Diploma in Cybersecurity and Master of Cybersecurity.
An IELTS (Academic) overall score of at least 6.0 with no sub-band less than 5.5; or equivalent TOEFL score of at least 213 in the computer-based test; or at least 79 in the internet-based test with no less than 22 in the written component; or a PTE Academic minimum overall score of 57 with no skill less than 50.

The university is located on several sites in Armidale, NSW. All the programs are offered via the four faculties: Arts; Economics, Business and Law; Education, Health and Professional Studies; and The Sciences; these faculties incorporate 18 teaching schools. Research is offered in the areas of rural science, agricultural economics, geology, educational administration, linguistics, archaeology, etc.
