COURSE DESCRIPTION
Description
Students who perform well during their bachelor of criminology or equivalent program, with a GPA of 5.0 or greater, may apply to undertake a further year of full-time (or part-time equivalent) study to obtain a bachelor of criminology (honours) degree. This degree further prepares students for vocational careers in criminology, as well as those with an interest in policy, research, and higher degree research.
For the thesis component, students choose from one of the following:
- a written research thesis, or
- a work placement program with a written account and analysis, or
- a creative and/or digital project with accompanying written exegesis.
Program learning outcomes
On successful completion of the program students will have:
- Demonstrated effective communication skills, both (a) orally and/or (b) in writing to varied audiences.
- Skills to work effectively (a) independently and/or (b) in collaboration with others.
- Critical thinking and complex analytical problem-solving skills.
- Demonstrated understanding of global, social and ethical issues.
