COURSE DESCRIPTION

Without numbers, interpreting the real world would not be possible.

Mathematics and data underpin so much of our society. They are the foundation of the appliances we use and the way we communicate. They are behind our navigation systems, how we travel, and the machinery used to produce our food.

Through this combined degree program, you’ll develop core skills in data science and mathematics. This includes data wrangling and visualisation, optimisation and mathematical modelling. You’ll also cover complex analysis, predictive analytics, programming, data and more.

Become an expert in communicating data to inform decision making and business strategy. Shape new technologies, inform more streamlined practices in industry, or even start your own business.

Course overview

Students will complete:

200 units of Core courses

20 units from the course list

either the Pure and Applied Mathematics Major or the Statistics Major

50 units of electives
