COURSE DESCRIPTION

Use advanced imaging technology to improve lives

You’ll be prepared for a dynamic career using advanced imaging technology. You will develop essential clinical reasoning and patient management skills. Learn how to create medical images to diagnose and manage patient health to save and improve lives.

During your studies you will have access to the latest diagnostic radiography technologies. Some of these include plain x-rays, computed tomography (CT), fluoroscopy, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasound, angiography and mammography.

Practice on campus in our world-class, medical sciences precinct and through placement opportunities.

You’ll graduate with the confidence and competence to undertake professional practice as a diagnostic radiographer.

Course overview

You’ll develop a strong foundation in physical, biomedical and behavioural sciences.

You will be able to enrol in a range of courses including:

anatomy and physiology

clinical education

patient care

clinical methods

medical imaging instrumentation

radiation protection

Career opportunities

Diagnostic radiographers play an important role in medicine and health care. They contribute significantly to improving community health.

You could work in private or public imaging departments, accident and emergency wards or operating theatres.
