The Bachelor of Medical Science and Doctor of Medicine (Joint Medical Program) is delivered in partnership with the University of New England. This partnership is in collaboration with the Central Coast Local Health District and the Hunter New England Local Health District.
You will gain a world-class dual medical qualification in just five years. We are one of the few universities that provide undergraduate entry to a medical degree program that leads to internship.
You will learn from leading clinicians and researchers who are actively involved in breaking research discoveries.
Be career ready with our advanced learning environments and educational technologies. Clinical placement opportunities start early in your degree. This will help you to hone your medical knowledge and skills in real-world settings.
Course overview
You’ll study a Bachelor of Medical Science in years one to three, and a Doctor of Medicine in years four and five. Throughout this degree, you’ll:
Gain a thorough and broad understanding of medicine and the basic sciences, learning how to apply your knowledge to specific medical problems.
Discover patient-centred clinical methods through problem-based learning.
Choose to study electives that interest you, such as rural health, Aboriginal health and public health.
Develop critical research skills that will set you in good stead for life-long learning in your medical career.
