COURSE DESCRIPTION

Developed to address industry demand for highly qualified cyber engineering and telecommunications professionals, you will learn directly from renowned experts; studying advanced topics in cyber engineering, telecommunications, big data and systems engineering, with a research component also incorporated in the program, including a minor thesis.

Our telecommunications students have worked on industry-related projects such as:

  • indoor localisation based on visible light communications
  • digital signal processing applied to a variety of practical problems (such as radar-based vehicle collision prevention system)
  • various aspects of the Internet of Things.

  • network planning manager: developing and implementing network plans and strategic goals; analysing existing network performance and identifying growth
  • opportunities; leading teams of network engineers
  • operations management and maintenance: supervising and leading teams of engineers, scientists and technicians who work on projects; overseeing production and
  • quality control; directing operations, testing and maintenance; planning and scheduling, client consulting, budgetary responsibilities
  • telecommunications research and development: improving the capabilities of current technologies or developing new technological innovations; analysing problems,
  • identifying solutions, using research methods to apply and test solutions, documenting and presenting solutions
  • satellite and other space system communications and security roles.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants would normally have completed a Bachelor degree in electrical engineering or other relevant discipline.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS score of 6.5 (with 6.0 in Reading and Writing); TOEFL iBT score of 79 with Reading and Writing not less than 18; TOEFL paper-based test (PBT) score of 577 with TWE of 4.5; Cambridge CAE/CPE score of 177; Pearson’s test of English (Academic) (PTE) score of 58 with Reading and Writing communicative scores not less than 50; CELUSA score of AE5.
