Overview
- Studying at Honours level will give you the opportunity to pursue specialised skills in Literature, extending your capacity to research and analyse, and raise your scholarship to a higher academic level.
- Focusing on critical and cultural theory, classical literature and film, this degree will allow you to explore the nature and operation of cultural institutions, and the cultural production of meaning.
- With expertise available in both the great texts and innovative and contemporary works of poetry, prose, drama, film, new media and critical essays, you will choose among a range of literary forms, genres and periods while enhancing your skills in analysis, critical thinking and developing communication skills.
Further study
This degree serves as a pathway to further study, such as the Master of Research or the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Career outcomes
This degree will open up a career in teaching (with further study), librarianship, publishing, editing, media, critiquing or the public service.

REQUIREMENTS
Completion of an Australian bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Arts or a related discipline, with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 5.0.
Students from different country must have qualifications equivalent to Australia.
English language requirements
IELTS (Academic only) – Overall minimum score of 6.0 and no individual band score of less than 5.5; TOEFL (internet based) – Overall minimum score of 80 and no individual skills score of less than 19; Pearson (PTE Academic) – Overall score of 50 and no individual Communicative Skills score of less than 50; Cambridge C1 Advanced C2 Proficiency – Overall minimum score of 169 with no less than 162 in each skill.
