Overview
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) is all around us; it’s changing the way we see the world, not only creatively in technical areas but across a variety of industries. Understanding how AI works and what benefits it can have can put you in the forefront in the job market.
- Study the Artificial Intelligence and Data Science major in UniSQ’s Bachelor of Information Technology and learn to implement AI algorithms and techniques using high-level programming languages to solve real-world problems.
- Develop cross-disciplinary skills to capture, process and interpret large volumes of data through a variety of statistical methods and data mining applications. Examine and reflect on the issues of privacy and ethics of data science.
- Benefit from UniSQ’s connections with industry partners and gain work-integrated learning experience during a final-year capstone course.
- Combine this major with another IT major, or select another 8-unit major from Law, Business or Sciences to suit your career goals.

Professional accreditation
Our Bachelor of Information Technology degree is accredited at professional level by the Australian Computer Society (ACS) and, through the Seoul Accord, is recognised in other countries. The Seoul Accord is a multi-lateral agreement that allows ACS accreditation to be recognised globally. This means when you graduate, your degree will be recognised by other countries who are members of the Accord.

Applicant must have Australian year 12 level or equivalent.
Students from different country must have qualifications equivalent to Australia.
English language requirements
IELTS (Academic only) – Overall minimum score of 6.0 and no individual band score of less than 5.5; TOEFL (internet based) – Overall minimum score of 80 and no individual skills score of less than 19; Pearson (PTE Academic) – Overall score of 50 and no individual Communicative Skills score of less than 50; Cambridge C1 Advanced C2 Proficiency – Overall minimum score of 169 with no less than 162 in each skill.
