COURSE DESCRIPTION

Overview

Develop industry-ready skills to prepare you for an exciting career in the television industry, with positions in reality television, live sport events, news and current affairs, talk shows, major events, game shows, sitcoms, comedy, production drama, television commercials and much more.
Be a part of a growing industry as a producer, director, camera operator, technician, writer, audio, lighting, editing and many other roles.
Link your Television Production major with other disciplines, such as Film, Journalism, IT, Radio or Marketing and graduate with a diverse and dynamic skill-set.
Benefit from UniSQ’s connections with industry such as Channel Nine and Seven, leading outside broadcaster NEP in Sydney and Melbourne and Fox Sport in Sydney. Expect to be involved in work experience in studio and outside broadcasts – all hands on, in real-time.
Our full broadcast television studio is your classroom! A practical, fully accessible space, with the latest technology for streaming and outside broadcast.

Further study

Upon successful completion of this degree, you can go on to study the Bachelor of Creative Arts (Honours).

Career outcomes

As a graduate, you can explore careers within television studio productions, outside broadcast coverage of sport, concerts or major events as well as news and current affairs.
You’ll be equipped to work in technical roles, production, on-air presentation, copywriting, editing, camera, media management, audio production and all associated roles.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicant must have Australian year 12 level or equivalent.

Students from different country must have qualifications equivalent to Australia.

English language requirements

IELTS (Academic only) – Overall minimum score of 6.0 and no individual band score of less than 5.5; TOEFL (internet based) – Overall minimum score of 80 and no individual skills score of less than 19; Pearson (PTE Academic) – Overall score of 50 and no individual Communicative Skills score of less than 50; Cambridge C1 Advanced C2 Proficiency – Overall minimum score of 169 with no less than 162 in each skill.
