The Master of Business Administration (International) is your opportunity to develop a suite of professional capabilities that will prepare you for the latest industry changes and challenges. You’ll investigate how the pandemic has accelerated a drastic change for the way managers interact and operate within with their team. Course objectives:

Our Master of Business Administration (International) will set you up with a powerful suite of professional capabilities that will empower you to take on the world of contemporary business. Through case-method learning, you will have the opportunity to critique, analyse, and re-invent business management theory by exploring real-world case studies and reports.
You will learn essential capabilities in a broad range of areas including data-driven decision making, corporate sustainability, leadership and change management in an international context. You will also have the opportunity to tailor your learning experience by selecting one of two specialisations: Finance, or Marketing.
As an MBA graduate, you will be ready to enter the workforce as an innovative, collaborative, and contemporary leader ready to the rapidly changing business world.

Course structure

To graduate from the Master of Business Administration (International), a student must complete 200 credit points of study comprising:
150 credit points of core units; and
50 credit points from one of the available specialisations.

REQUIREMENTS

For entry into the MBA (International), students must meet the following criteria:

Either:

1) Completed undergraduate degree of an Australian higher education institution or the equivalent standard in any other institution

OR

2) Completion of the Graduate Certificate of Business Studies at the University of Tasmania, or an equivalent qualifying Graduate Certificate

OR

3) Completion of an AQF Level 6 qualification and a of three (3) years senior managerial experience.

International students must provide one of the following: UTAS Access Level 7 with a overall score of 65% and no individual skill below 60%; or an IELTS score with an overall Band of 6.5 and no band less than 6; or a TOEFL (iBT) overall score of 88 (no individual skill must be lower than: Reading 16; Listening 16; Speaking 18; and, Writing 22) or a PTE Academic overall score of 58 with no score lower than 50, or provide evidence that you have studied for 2 years full-time with English as the sole medium of instruction and examination. These tests must not be more than 24 months old.

In addition to the main campus at Sandy Bay, it also operates out of the Newnham Campus and the Cradle Coast Campus. The most popular courses offered are the environmental studies that include wilderness management, marine sciences and indigenous studies in Tasmanian literature. Other unconventional courses include agriculture development, studies on the community and population and ocean study programs. The university also comprises of a Music Conservatorium, Art school and a School of Clinical studies.
