UTS’s postgraduate project management program is designed to enhance the knowledge, experience and careers of both aspiring and experienced project managers. The UTS Graduate Certificate in Project Management equips students with foundational knowledge and experience to launch or enhance project management careers across all industries – such as banking and finance, construction and engineering, event management, government, health and information technology.
Graduates of the Graduate Certificate in Project Management who wish to extend their studies will gain full credit for the Graduate Certificate subjects when they enrol in the Master of Project Management.
To cater for busy work schedules, UTS delivers most of the postgraduate project management subjects in intensive block workshops. These workshops create an immersive experience where students work with their peers in a team-based, simulated project environment.
UTS academics are at the forefront of international project management research. This breadth of knowledge ensures that students have access to leading-edge thinking applied in both project-specific and organisational contexts. Our teaching staff and specialist guest lecturers have extensive industry experience and knowledge of current trends in project management practice.
Course aims
The UTS Graduate Certificate in Project Management aims to equip graduates with the skills and attributes required for professional project management practice. The course provides foundational project management knowledge that aligns with professional association standards. The UTS Graduate Certificate in Project Management aims to develop students as reflective project management practitioners with the ability to adapt and improve practice. The communication, leadership and interpersonal abilities that are crucial for managing projects successfully are emphasised throughout the course. In addition, the course aims to develop skills in academic literacy and enquiry to support graduates in their ongoing education and development.
Careers
UTS Graduate Certificate in Project Management produces graduates with skills and experiences that enable them to establish or enhance their careers as project managers. Graduates are in high demand by local and international organisations across industries such as banking and finance, construction and engineering, event management, government, health and IT.
REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.
Applicants must have a UTS recognised bachelor’s degree or equivalent and a minimum of six months’ relevant work experience, or an Advanced Diploma in Project Management plus a minimum of two years’ relevant work experience.
The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
