COURSE DESCRIPTION

The Graduate Diploma in Human Resource Management provides participants with sound knowledge and skills in the field of human resource management (HRM), enabling participants to develop expertise across the field of HRM and its issues, including employment relations and other management practices.

The course provides an avenue for participants to gain theoretical and practical skills in the fields of HRM and IR. It is based on the master’s program but requires fewer units of study. In most circumstances, participants can choose to progress to the Master of Human Resource Management (C04286) on satisfactory completion of this course.

Course aims

The course is designed to meet the career needs of professionals with some experience in an area related to HRM and employment relations.

Course structure

Students must complete a total of 48 credit points consisting of eight core subjects.

Careers

Career options include management-level positions in industry or government related to HRM.

REQUIREMENTS

Applicants must have completed a UTS recognised bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent or higher qualification, or submitted other evidence of general and professional qualifications that demonstrates potential to pursue graduate studies.

The English proficiency requirement for international students or local applicants with international qualifications is: Academic IELTS: 6.5 overall with a writing score of 6.0; or TOEFL: paper based: 550-583 overall with TWE of 4.5, internet based: 79-93 overall with a writing score of 21; or AE5: Pass; or PTE: 58-64 with a writing score of 50; or C1A/C2P: 176-184 with a writing score of 169.
