Learn the art and science of promoting population health when you study public health at UOW. Throughout the degree you will learn to improve living standards through preventing infectious diseases and poor health caused by unhealthy lifestyles and other societal factors, enabling positive mental wellbeing based on scientific evidence.
This degree is for high achieving students who have completed the three-year Bachelor of Public Health. This Honours program is an additional fourth year of study and is designed to provide students with the skills needed to demonstrate a clear understanding of research questions, an ability to investigate them and excellence in research practice.
Allowing you to further develop your knowledge and skills in public health, this course gives you a competitive edge in the workforce.
Throughout the degree, you will design, plan and implement a substantial piece of research, critically evaluate the relevant literature, exercise creative intellectual enquiry, contribute professionally to a research environment and, when necessary, work as part of a team, presenting research in an appropriate format.
A research training degree, the Bachelor of Public Health (Honours) provides training in in-depth enquiry, specialised development of research skills, project management, and communicating findings.
