Program Structure
Students must complete 96 UOC when taken as a standalone program.
The MSc is a lower level research qualification. Students must undertake an original investigation but it is more limited in its scope and in the degree of originality expected than the PhD. External examiners evaluate the thesis and to indicate whether it merits the awarding of the degree. The recommended length of enrolment for a full-time Masters research student is two years (6 terms), and candidates must submit their thesis for examination no later than 3 years (9 terms) from the commencement of their enrolment. Part-time and external study options may be available, subject to the approval of the School.
REQUIREMENTS
A Bachelor degree with Second Class Honours in psychology from UNSW, or an equivalent qualification from a tertiary institution, as determined by the Faculty Higher Degree Committee (HDC).
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall (min. 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL IBT (Internet Based): 90 overall (min. 23 in writing, 22 in reading, listening and speaking); Pearson (PTE – Academic): 64 overall (min. 54 in each subtest); C1 Advanced Cambridge: 176 overall (min. 169 in each subtest); C2 Proficiency Cambridge: 180 overall (min. 180 in each subtest); UNSW Global University English Entry Course (UEEC): Successful completion with a minimum overall grade of C+ and a minimum grade of C in the writing component.
