OVERVIEW
Pursue a challenging and rewarding career as a Registered Paramedic with a Bachelor of Paramedicine at Victoria University (VU).
Develop the skills required to work as a Registered Paramedic in ambulance settings, primary health care settings, community health care settings and more. While studying your paramedicine degree at VU, you’ll be registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
Practice your technical and non-technical skills in VU’s safe spaces using sophisticated resources and gain the Professional Capabilities of a paramedic. Your study will include a mix of interactive theoretical face-to-face classes, clinical practice laboratories, high-fidelity simulation clinics and work integrated learning (WIL).
You’ll routinely engage with clinically current registered health professionals and academics as you develop your paramedic capabilities, ensuring you graduate with the professional standards and confidence to confidently enter the job market.
CAREERS
As a Registered Paramedic, you’ll be qualified to work across a variety of healthcare settings nationally and internationally. The Australian health system is rapidly expanding to incorporate increasing job opportunities for Registered Paramedics. Internationally, you will find job opportunities are broad and varied.

REQUIREMENTS
Completion of an Australian Senior Secondary Certificate (VCE or equivalent) including Units 3 and 4: a study score of at least 25 in English (EAL) or 20 in any other English (or equivalent). OR: Completion of an Australian Advanced Diploma or Diploma (or equivalent). OR: Completion of a Foundation course or equivalent.
English language requirements
IELTS (Academic module): Overall score of 6.0 (no band less than 6.0)
TOEFL Internet: Overall score of 67 (Listening 12, Speaking 18, Reading 15, Writing 21)
Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 50 (no section score less than 50)
University of Cambridge – Advanced (CAE): Overall score of 169. No individual band less than 169.
VU English – English for Academic Purposes (EAP) (Level 4): achieved.
