COURSE DESCRIPTION
COURSE OVERVIEW
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as designers or design paraprofessionals who support professional engineers. They perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to develop site specific work designs to ensure the implementation of the client’s site requirements. They demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.
Training Pathway:
After achieving RII60520 – Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design, individuals could progress to:
Bachelor of Civil Engineering
Any other equivalent qualification
Employment Pathway:
This qualification provides the skills and knowledge to potentially gain employment as a:
Civil Construction Supervisor
Civil Design Draftsperson
Senior Civil Works Designer
REQUIREMENTS
Whilst there are no formal entry requirements for this qualification in the Training Package, the institute’s entry requirements are a below:
Completion of Diploma of Civil Construction Design or equivalent qualification of Diploma Level.
IELTS (Academic) band score 5.5 or equivalent score in other English tests including, PTE, TOEFL, and CAE.
18 years or older at commencement of course.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
The student must have basic computer skills to use word processing software like Microsoft Word and using internet effectively for research.
WMIT will conduct LLN assessment of the student at the time of orientation to identify the support required by the students. This support will enable students to complete qualification successfully in required time.
