Western’s Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) prepares you for an unlimited career in the building industry. Along with the full suite of theory and practical knowledge that enable to develop a broad-based view of how the construction industry operates, you will gain a strong understanding of construction technology; construction economics; construction law; and construction project management through this degree.

You could also opt to specialise either in ‘quantity surveying’ or ‘building surveying’ by undertaking relevant suite of electives under each specialisation pathways.

With the 1200 hours of industry based experience requirement before graduation, the program is offered with flexible and condensed timetables to enable you to undertake industry cadetships and other work-integrated learning activities.

Professional Recognition and Accreditations

The Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) program is accredited by the Australian Institute of Building (AIB, Incorporated by Royal Charter under the Australian Crown). The Quantity Surveying specialisation of this program is accredited by the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS).

The Bachelor of Construction Management (Honours) program is further accredited by the Chartered Institute of Builders (CIOB), with its Quantity Surveying specialisation also accredited by the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).

Further, this degree satisfies one of the requirements for NSW Builder’s licence through NSW fair trading, which is the educational degree requirement.

REQUIREMENTS

Students must have Successful completion of Year 12 or an equivalent qualification.

English Language Requirements:

IELTS: 6.5 overall score (min 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL internet-based score of 82: Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50.
