The Graduate Diploma in TESOL provides graduates with a professional qualification for teaching English to speakers of other languages.
The course is suitable for teachers in other educational fields (e.g. primary and secondary education), and for graduates in any field wishing to develop a long-term career in TESOL in Australia and overseas.
TESOL at Western
TESOL at Western values bi- and multilingualism, with our staff having extensive experience and expertise in the fields of TESOL, linguistics and languages.
The School of Humanities and Communication Arts works closely with other language teaching providers in Sydney to organise internship placements, access current industry trends, resources and expertise in teaching methodology, and to identify resources and trends in the field.
Our internship program leads the field in connecting students with language teaching providers in Sydney. A TESOL qualification is a means of combining work and travel opportunities, with employment opportunities readily available in Australia and other countries.
The Graduate Diploma in TESOL equips you with an internationally valued skill set, enabling you to communicate and exchange ideas with people of diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, and to learn more about other cultures and languages.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree or postgraduate qualification in any discipline.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall score (min 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL internet-based score of 82: Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50.
