The speed of change in Information and Communications Technology requires everyone to update their knowledge every few years. Western Sydney University courses recognise this. In addition we concentrate on the vital role that computer networks, including internet and web technologies, are playing in all areas of life.
This is reflected in our research strengths in networking and web engineering.
The Master of Information and Communications Technology (Advanced) prepares computing professionals and recent graduates for work in the information and communications technologies sector at the top of today’s thoroughly globalized and networked environment. The course combines both Web Engineering and Networking specialisations, giving a strong foundation for your professional life in computing.
You will gain the knowledge, understanding and skills to deal effectively with advanced issues in information and communications technologies.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have successfully completed:
A undergraduate degree or higher in any discipline OR An undergraduate degree in any discipline AND a Graduate Certificate or Graduate Diploma in any discipline.
Applicants who have successfully completed an Australian Computer Society accredited (or equivalent) Bachelor’s degree in Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), Computing or Information Systems OR an Honours degree OR a Master degree in any discipline may be eligible for up to 40 credit points of Credit for Prior Learning subject to approval by the relevant Directors of Academic Programs (DAP).
Applicants who have successfully completed an Australian (or equivalent) Graduate Certificate in ICT may be eligible for up to 40 or 80 credit points of Credit for Prior Learning subject to approval by the relevant Directors of Academic Programs (DAP).
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 6.5 overall score (min 6.0 in each subtest); TOEFL internet-based score of 82: Writing 21, Speaking 18, Reading 13, Listening 13; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 58 overall; No communication skills less than 50.
