We all had that one teacher who made a difference in our life. Western prepares you to be that person. This degree offers a mix of theory and real-world experience, so you emerge as a highly sought-after early-childhood and/or primary school teacher.
At Western, we know the value a great teacher brings to the classroom as well as the challenges you’ll face. Our Master of Teaching (Birth – 5 Years/Birth – 12 Years) is specifically designed to give you the practical tools, inspiration and direction to achieve your dreams of becoming an early-childhood or primary school teacher.
Offering a mix of on-campus theory and innovative school-based placements, our aim is to produce teachers with strong academic knowledge and skills, excellence in professional practice, commitment to equity and social justice, and dedication to personal and professional growth. With this degree, you can choose either an early exit to become a degree early-childhood (Birth-5 Year) teacher or complete an additional six months to graduate with a primary-school teaching degrees as well (Birth-12).
To help you juggle your busy work, career and personal life, Western also offers flexible study options. You may be eligible for an accelerated study mode to complete your degree sooner.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in any discipline.
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 7.5 overall score, minimum 7.0 in reading and writing, minimum 8.0 for speaking and listening; TOEFL internet-based total score 105 Writing 24; Speaking 26; Listening 28 and Reading 24; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 78 overall; Speaking 79; Listening 79; Reading 65; Writing 65.
