With a greater reliance on technology and the increasingly fast pace of change, it’s important that you are equipped with the skills and knowledge to teach to the future. Western’s newly developed Master of Teaching (STEM) prepares you to inspire the high school students of tomorrow.
We all had that one teacher who made a difference in our life. The one who influenced us beyond just subject matter. Western prepares you to be that person – with the newly developed Master of Teaching (Secondary) STEM.
This degree explores the areas of science, technology, engineering and mathematics. Prepares you to meet the demands of the 21st century, and inspire your secondary-school students to actively participate in and embrace these vital areas of learning.
Professional accreditation
The Master of Teaching (Secondary) STEM is a professional teaching qualification for students possessing an appropriate degree program.
When you graduate, you’ll be eligible to register with the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA). Graduates meet the Australian Professional Standards for Graduate Teachers.

REQUIREMENTS
Applicants must have successfully completed an undergraduate degree in the disciplines of science, technology, engineering and/or mathematics (STEM) and these subjects must match with the secondary STEM subject content requirements of the NSW Education Standards Authorities (NESA).
English Language Requirements:
IELTS: 7.5 overall score, minimum 7.0 in reading and writing, minimum 8.0 for speaking and listening; TOEFL internet-based score: Total score 105 Writing 24; Speaking 26; Listening 28 and Reading 24; Pearson Test of English Academic (PTE): 78 overall; Speaking 79; Listening 79; Reading 65; Writing 65.
